Privacy Policy

How LOCKNN handles your data — last updated May 2026.

Overview

LOCKNN is a workout tracking app published by appsix (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what data the LOCKNN app accesses, what we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it.

We designed LOCKNN to keep workout data on your device by default. You can use the entire app as a Guest without signing in, in which case your workouts, photos, journal entries, and route maps stay on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your workout history can be synced to your private LOCKNN account so you can move between devices.

Health and fitness data we access

With your explicit permission, LOCKNN reads from and writes to Apple Health (HealthKit) on iOS and Health Connect on Android. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

What we read

  • Active energy and basal energy burned
  • Heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV)
  • VO2 Max
  • Step count and distance walked / run
  • Workouts already recorded by other apps or devices
  • Sleep analysis
  • Body measurements (weight, height, body fat % when provided)
  • Running metrics (cadence, power, ground contact time)

What we write

  • Workout sessions you complete in LOCKNN (type, duration, route, heart rate samples, calories, distance)
  • Active calories burned during a session
  • Body measurements you log inside the app

Why we use it

Health and fitness data is used solely to give you accurate live tracking, post-workout summaries, weekly and monthly insights, personal best detection, heart rate zones, and streak tracking. Health data is processed on your device.

Location data we process

With your explicit permission, LOCKNN uses your device’s precise location to track outdoor workouts (running, cycling, hiking, walking, etc.).

What we collect

  • GPS coordinates, elevation, and timestamps captured during a workout session you have started
  • Derived metrics (distance, pace, splits, route shape) computed from those coordinates

Foreground and background use

LOCKNN requests background location so your route continues to be recorded if you lock the screen, switch apps, or put the phone in your pocket during an outdoor workout. Background tracking only runs while a workout is active — once you end the session, location collection stops.

Why we use it

Location is used only to draw your route map, calculate distance, pace, and elevation, and write the completed workout (with the route) to Apple Health or Health Connect if you have enabled that integration. Location is never linked with any of your data, and stays private on your device only.

Your control

You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings — LOCKNN will continue to work without it; only outdoor route features will be unavailable.

Other information we process

Workout journal photos

If you attach a photo to a workout, the image is stored locally on your device. It is uploaded to your private LOCKNN account only if you are signed in and only to enable cross-device sync.

Account information

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address (or Apple’s relay address) and a unique user identifier. We use this only to create and maintain your LOCKNN account. We do not receive your password.

Subscription information

Subscription purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play, which tell the app whether you have an active MAXX subscription. We do not receive your payment card details.

Device, diagnostics and analytics

We collect anonymized crash reports and aggregated, non-identifying product analytics — such as which screens were opened and which features were used. These do not include your name, email, location, photos, or health data. You can opt out via your device settings — on iOS, “Allow Apps to Request to Track” is requested as off by default.

Notifications

If you enable Smart Reminders we use local notifications scheduled on your device. No reminder content is sent through our servers.

How we process the data you permitted

  • To provide live workout tracking and post-workout summaries
  • To compute personal bests, streaks, and weekly / monthly insights
  • To sync your workouts between your devices when signed in
  • To display your route, distance, and pace for outdoor workouts
  • To remind you to train at the times you choose
  • To diagnose crashes and improve app stability
  • To verify your MAXX subscription state

Where your data is stored

Workout sessions, route maps, photos, and journal entries are stored locally on your device. Health and location data processed on-device is held in iOS / Android secure storage.

How to delete your data

Delete a single workout

In the app, open the Log tab, tap the workout, then tap the delete icon. The workout (including its route, photos, journal, and any HealthKit / Health Connect entry written by LOCKNN) is removed from your device immediately.

Delete your entire LOCKNN account

  1. Open the Me tab.
  2. Scroll to Account → Delete account.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

This wipes your account, all synced workouts, route data, photos, and journal entries. The action is irreversible.

Delete on-device data without an account

If you used LOCKNN as a Guest, simply uninstalling the app removes all workouts, photos, and journal entries from your device. Nothing remains with us because nothing was ever sent.

Email request

If you cannot access the app, write to hello@appsix.com from the email address linked to your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days.

Revoking permissions

You can stop LOCKNN from accessing health or location data at any time without deleting your account — on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security, on Android via Settings → Apps → LOCKNN → Permissions and Settings → Health Connect.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA, UK, California), you have the right to access, correct, port, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict processing. You can exercise any of these rights by emailing hello@appsix.com. We respond within 30 days.

Children

LOCKNN is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always published at this URL with an updated date at the top. Continued use of LOCKNN after a change becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
